Ricey new Cougar gets killed
In town here there is a newer Cougar with neon blue flashing headlight bulbs with a loud exhaust that thinks he is so fast. I pulled up next to him at the stoplight and looked over at him. He glanced over quickly and then looked away. I thought I would take off slow and easy since he did not seem like he wanted to race. Well, the light turns green and I start out like a normal human being and he does also. Well, as we get to about 15mph he gets all over it. So I respond by flooring it through the rest of first gear, I hit second pretty hard and glace over to see that I am pulling him real hard. By the time I was going 40, his front bumper was at my rear bumper. When I went to third gear at about 60 he was about a car and a half back! Full boost through second gear is party time in my car haha! After that I slowed quickly to 45 because I was speeding, and he does the ricer fly by. After that I did not see him cruising the rest of the night. I guess I embarassed him a little.
Maybe next time he will know better than to mess with sleeper 4 door Civics with 10psi of T3 turbo under the hood! |

Sounds like a nice kill but the only way to justify that story as being fair and even is if the kids was really thinking he was the shi*. Those cougars are nice looking cars but dont have much of anything under the hood, i own one and its 170 horse, no turbo unlike yours.

is v6 170 horse? either way, they're not too quick. could be driver skill, but of the two times that i've played with cougar v-6, there's not been much contest... i win. gs-r is geared for that though... oh and blownteggy... jrsc coming my way by august, if all goes well. sweet!

Since when is there a 4 door 97 Civic EX? The EX was only available in a 2 door in 97, i have one. Maybe I am mistaken. Let me know.

Ok let me get this straight, no disrespect or what ever. but you pulled on a crappy cougar less than how you pulled on a LS1 f-body in another post? maybe the cougar was fixed up alot or something.
P.S. Don't take my reply all personal or anything |

97CivicFerio,
Sounds like you have a nice setup. If you're ever in the Maryland area look me up, I'd be willing to give you a run. Just take it easy on me though |

Thanks man. What times do you run? It appears as though you have a lot of nice mods. If I did run you I don't believe I could afford to take it easy on you though!

No idea on this setup (Much less weight, more boost, new engine, bla bla bla bla bla... ) My last setup/combination in full street trim (60 lb speaker box, Z rated tires, full tank of gas) and going straight to staging lanes after driving 70 miles was 12.9@111.37 missing 4th gear. That combination blew up in January and blew a hole through the block. Take care and congrats on your kill! -Tim |

Thanks! 12.9 with a missed gear is very good still! Good luck with your new setup!:

I'm sorry to hear about your lost 4.5psi of boost. Still ain't buying your LS1 kill, though.
