performance gains from removing the ac ?

well the time has come to have the ac removed because it is not working at all and all it does is create drag and keep weight on the car. anyone knows what kind of gains i would see ? i am hoping for better gas yardage

well... it only really creates drag when its on, there might be a tiny bit when the ac is off, but when the compressor is off, its a free spinning pully. the "power gains" your going to get out of it is going to be whatever weight you pull out. not really worth it in my opinion.

on a side note, you actually get better gas milage with the a/c on and the windows up(at least in my car while going anywhere from 55+ in all the times ive tested it) . the drag created from having open windows works against you more thanthe A/C compressor.

That'll be the only time I would ever take an A/C out.... if the A/C is broke. Same goes with power steering.

Any of you guys plan on removing A/C for power/time slip reasons? I still don't get that...it makes me feel that I'm just not dedicated enough or something.
