I'm Rebulding: b20vtec or k24.k20?
So, since I sold my b20 block, I've been really trying to rebuild another b20vtec and make it stronger than the last. So I have my JUN head and new pistons/rods/cams/sleevs etc...but ran across another option of paying for things. [long story] Now that I'm gonna sell it all, I figured I might as well start over and sell my JUN head too, maybe build k24/k20? I've been hearing/reading great raves about the set up and thought, hey, it's a fresh start, why not? If I go that route, I'd have major reading up to do..but..I'd like to know your guys' opinions. Either way, it's N/A. Right now, my initial plan is b20vtec with TODA head, 84.5mm LS block and some goodies, keeping the compression at 11.5:1 for some nitrous space.
DOn't wanna ramble too much, just want some opinions. Cool Beans

Dang... you got a lot of bad ass parts! K-series all motor is the hotness right now, especially after the skunk2 RSX whooped some major ass on the All-motor class.
It's a hard choice since you already have all these great parts and having to switch over to a K motor to start over. I dont know what kind of funds you have available for you, but it seems that you have some.... Goodluck on whatever you decide. |

you CAN build a K24 wit ha k20 head, but i dont remember all the specifics since i got out of cars etc for a while. youd want to swap the oil pans or something or other, i just dont remember. if you want to know more i can find it in like 2 seconds

I'm really starting to move my decision to the k series plan. I mean, it's new and why not start on it now since im rebuilding anyway? If I do decide that, I'm gonna have a butt load of bseries parts to sell..anyone wanna buy my JUN head to start with?
Thanks for the replies, everyone, I'll probably make a decision by the end of the week. PAT: remember that ls longblock I picked up for $300 like a month+ ago? I'm probably gonna sell it if I do the kswap..lemme know if you want it. [reminder: you lost out on that $300 ls in your town. tahaha] If anyone knows some good forums for me to list my parts on, throw me a PM or list em here.... **If anyone wants to be OOBER cool and wants to post for me, that'd be even better =P

I'll make a thread for you @ h-t classifieds, LYNA. Just get a list together and pm it to me. Pictures REALLY help...most people wont even look at a thread if it doesnt have pics. The fact that a regular, long time user posts it up will make people feel safe when buying. Of course, I'll mention that theyre not my parts...shouldnt make a difference if I vouch for you.
I would really like to buy the ls, but the fact is I need to save the cash money for presents, right now. If youve got it by the end of january, I'll probably break down and buy it off you...just dont hold it for me - sell it if you can, by all means. Did you ever get of the parts put in? PAT, damn, you still got the LYNA thing going. lol.
Anyway, aww, you'll vouch for me!? What ever happened to that certain PM where I said you were my slave boy or something? lol Yes, I'll send you pics, would it be better if I emailed it to you? I already took pics of everything =] No, I never installed it for the reason that I wasn't sure If this was whatI really wanted. I didn't really like the idea of going 84.5mm on my LS block..I rather start with a 2.0 and stroke to a 2.2 or something. So..all my parts are still prettiful and in the oem box so I can resell. DUDE, K series chit is so expensive. This makes my decision <-------------------------------------------------------> that much harder!

...I have a hard time letting things go sometimes....lyna. And that slave boy pm was destroyed to hide any evidence that the conversation took place! SHH
And of course, Id vouch for about 95% of the people on this board; I know you wouldnt rip any body off. K's are very exepnsive, I know. I did a real quick search on ebay for you (because Im not your slave) K24a's http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW I figure, why bother with a k20 when you can have a k24 for less money? All you'd need is the a2 head and you have a sweet bigblock K w/ the better ivtec. (Dont ask me where youd get a head) Just remember, new technology is always expensive at first... |

PAT. You're too funny. I might include [to make your day 847893257x better] that I still have the PM. Oh yes, I'll hang onto that for dear life.
I know they're expensive, but it's a you win some [new, fresh] you lose some [expensive, limited]. There is a k24 short block on eBay that we found yesterday..from an Accord. Jeebus, that link you showed me..makes me feel like my wallet is empty. As for the posts, shall I email it to you? I was going to send you pics of the JUN head, je pistons, eagle rods, darton sleeves, dc header, jdm dc2 shift console, jdm dc2 floor mats, skunk 2 cam gears, ls/vtec arp head studs, and perhaps the LS longblock if I decide I wanna do the kswap. Tis okay? Thanks again...PAT! I. O. U.

sure sure, email is cool.
Write as much info as you can about whatever, when needed. If I can, I'll just copy and paste as much as possible. I'll host the pics up at imageshack too. Send it all to me...you've still got my email address right? Its not a big deal...Lyna, dont worry about any kind of IOU's (though Im sure I could think of several ways ...Get your mind out of the gutter! ...Now put it back in ) edit*** Did you ever do a compression check on the ls? |

PAT, weird, I had responded to this during class and then the www went a little crazy..but I thought the post had posted. I've been waiting for a response from you. lol.
Anyway, I lost your address, did I ever even have it? Maybe I got rid of it for some sorta strange evidence. PM me your email address, or email me at jdmsweeetz@aol.com My mind is never in the gutter. Never. As for the LS, no, haven;t done much to it, I know it runs though, gaurantee running condition and I know the previous owner. I'm still having a hard time deciding if I wanna build the kswap though.. i mean...I'm worried about how much everything will cost in comparison to the b20. Have you seen any prices for k24shortblocks? BTW: I love the way you styled L Y N A. So, girly.

Remember my old b20z shortblock that I sold? Here it is, about ready to ship off to the buyer/new owner. He shipped his head my way so we can build and send back as a longblock.
I'm gonna have withdrawals from her on Monday. :o
