Suspension upgrading

I prolly should put this in the suspension forum but meh its about my accord and im sure hondamaniac, comes here more often to look at posts..and u know ur shit ..heh..but i got my Ractive Coil Overs today...and my tie rods and sway bar brushing s are getting fixed..but i was wondering over the winter im going to save up and buy koni yellows..but is that all i need? would buying a chamber kit and maybe new control arms or SOMETHING
be a good idea to make sure the ride is nice...im prolly dropping it at least 2 inches..maybe more..and basically the coil overs replace my stock shocks right? or am i wrong...need some ideas please thanks..and ya this isnt all happening till next year but im making a list now...

Coilover sleeves (Ractive) replace your stock springs, and you keep your stock struts. True coilovers replace the stock spring and strut with a well matched combo. You don't need new control arms when you upgrade.

Yes, a 2" drop will most likely require a camber kit, but get an alignment done after lowering to be sure. A camber kit is only needed if the alignment cannot be done within spec using the stock adjustments.

For the Koni yellows, yeah, that's all you need. I believe there are two editions - those that will fit GC coilover sleeves, and those that don't (slightly skinnier). Check the specs of your Ractive coilovers to determine which you'll need (most likely the regular version).

it looks like you got it all figured it out. as for the control arms ( the upper one) ingalls has a camber kit like that, that will replace the whole thing. it will adjust the camber from the upper balljoint. if u get the anchors the arms will hit the inner fender because of the small clearance.

Yea you need to replace your struts because they will blow out lowering the car 2inchs if they are already arent blowen. Get so kybs or tokicos. I bought mine from thi company in california for pretty cheap.Check them out.

umm, you bought ractive..

Nevermind that its a cheaper product.. the thing is that they are prone to rust fast.. faster than the other BS COs out there..

keep them well lubed and try to avoid driving in salty (as in salt) conditions.

Go with a true coilover such as Apex'i or Tein.

If you're stuck on getting sleeves, get GC's

GC = Ground Control. Just seems weird to have really cheap sleeves and spend $550 on nice struts

Anyway, big brake kits like the AEM require you to have at least 17" wheels for clearance issues.

Well, didn't mean to talk you out of it, but we're here to help you out. Have you looked into Apex'i WS? They run around $850 (you can find them cheaper though), and you have yourself a true coilover. You were going to spend close to that with your sleeve strut combo.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. That's why I know what I'm going to order before I go to a shop always. Oh well, live and learn.

i don't know but for some reason i don't like the coilovers unless they are a true setup. i think matrix makes a 24point adjustable one. for over a grand better be good
