?Branches + Freeflow?
Hi All
As you can see, I have a 1998 Honda Civic 150i. I already did the air intake and now I want to get branches + freeflow... there is just some stuff still bothering me. Now we all know that Honda's doesn't really have the most back pressure of all cars, now the thing is, when you put a branche + freeflow on, you are probably gonna lose even more back pressure, so is this a wise choice? I basically want you guys advice on this: Is the branche + freeflow worth the money? What are the side effects? My topend will probably be better, but what about quarter mile? Will I feel the performance increase? Just take note that I am not close the coast, and here in SA, we use 93 octane petrol... |

there is a decent amount of backpressure... but freeing it up will only MAYBE drop a few ft/lbs of torque down low but it'll increase horsepower a bit and driveability considerably.

Headers and exhaust if you prefer. Accourding to me Headers = Branches and exhaust = freeflow... Anyway!
AzCivic, i'm only looking for a bit faster... Let me tell you what made me finally decide to get headers and exhaust is the fact that in 4th gear, doing 5500rpm = 100mph and then the car just sits! I don't know why??? Now keep in mind this is only a 150i hatch... Does this have anything to do with the fact that I can only get 100mph? Will the headers and exhaust make me go faster than that? Anyone, any advice or comment? |

Yes, here in SA the 150i Civic is a 1493cc SOHC 16V has 103bhp@6400 rpm.
So do you think headers with exhaust will make a performace increase for the good? It's not gonna be like I get more top end, but less acceleration or something? |

get'em... they should do exactly what you're looking for...
a little more pick up with higher top end (possibly)... get a decent brand header though... the cheapest good header I've seen is the headman "chikara tork step" header... other than that dc is pretty popular but more expensive...

Yes well, all that fancy brand names you've mentioned there... well, here in SA we do not have those We have brands like Cowley, WildCat, TNT and BroSpeed.
But thanks for the advice, I'll probably get them end of the month. |
