Warranty Vs. Upgrading
wHATZ SOME OF YOU FELLOW IMPORTERS THOUGHTS ON UPGRADING ON A CAR BUT BY DOING THIS YOU WOULD VOID THE WARRANTY- IN MY CASE I HAVE A 2002 SI HB 3yr warranty or 36k miles, I've had her a littlel shy of a year, but i am ready to start upgrading, matter of fact i just ordered my AEM CAI and if its here by SAT. i might just have it installed....help ..and i need some people to play devil advocate if you think that is needed???.....thnks

You generally will only void the warranty on the part that you replaced. I was told back when I had my warranty that it was perfectly ok to change intake, exhaust, etc. Now if you start doing things like turbo, etc. you'll void the entire engine warranty.

i'd go ahead and put the intake in.... i'm pretty sure that you wouldn't have any problem before your warranty is over..so might as well put the intake in... that's what i did..

I put a CAI in my civic about 3 weeks ago and despite what AEM will tell you, it IS possible to fit a bypass valve on it. Might as well. You can always put the stock air box back in it.
