Back to the build....
I finally got the tranny rebuilt by my tuner. he integrated an upgraded/coated/stronger 3rd, 4th, 5th gear with the same gear ratio. Good stuff from Gear Speed. I painted the housing to match the motor paint: |

I made my own catch can from some left over 3 inch piping. I also incorporated a dipstick from an old motor I had laying around:.

I have about 98% of the parts to get the motor running. The only problem now is that I'm going to be out to sea... navy stuff.... for 3 weeks. Once I get back, I will drop the motor in and refabricate a few charge pipes and mate my DP and exhaust system.

I'm not gonna upgrade the calipers yet. I'm looking at a set of Rotora xdrilled/slotted or Brembo xdrilled. The pads are barely used. I'm also thinking about redoing the whole brake hydraulic system..... redo all the tubing cuz the stock looks like a big clustrofuk.....:o

I dropped the motor in within 2 hours. I installed the.clutch/FW/tranny myself and a friend helped a little bit.
The only problem now is that it looks like I will have to refab to reposition my old piping to compensate for a bigger turbo and intake manifold. Too bad that i also have to redo my down pipe again cuz I overlooked the clutch slave cylinder bleed valve being on the way. It's okay tho. It shouldnt take me too long to redo the DP. Gonna get the motor started sometime during the week...... |

Pat,
Nope, I will not be putting a cover on the cam gears. I wanted to, but my timing is already half a tooth off as it is since the head was milled. My tuner also told me to leave it open since he will be messing around with the cam gear timing...... Steve, Go on right ahead bro...... lol |
