crop circles are frauds thats for sure. hell all you need are 2 peices of rope, and a plank of wood
but what Chris said makes sense. Homosapien sapiens have only been on this earth for an estimate of 15,000 years. I mean...hell dinosaurs existed for something like 200 million years. (haha thats funny we've been on this earth for 15,000 years and we're already worrying about destroying our own world...man what were those dinosaurs doing right?) but seriously some sort of life has to have to ability to reach at the least their end of the galaxy by now, I would just think it be naive to even think otherwise |

No its about right, if you ask most of the people who happen to be "experts in their field" when it comes to this.
I'm also on board the thought that we aren't very advanced. Hell, if the dinosaurs didn't die out, they'd be the ones who evolved, not us. It'd be like that old 80's cartoon Dinosaucers |

remember that show "Dinosaurs."
that would be totally awesome if we didn't exist and it was just dinosaurs on the planet living like us. "not the mama" and GT. I'm a genius according to my IQ...but my parents still call me a dipshit...

Oh I'm not saying many of them aren't hoaxes. I'm just saying that I think some of them are genuine. No matter how smart you are, it's hard to leave radioactivity behind all by yourself.

but the thing is there was a 2 person team who went out and did these crop circle, The Discovery Channel did something on them awhile back, they planned and mapped out exactly they wanted to made sure measures we accurate and went out and did this. it was a well put together fraud.
but nonetheless I won't completely say that all of them are frauds, who the hell knows ha |

Man, this stuff drives in insane going back and forth with myself. I've watched plenty of informative Crop Circles episodes on TV and I too always thought it was one of those "conspiracies." However, I definitely agree with Steve on it possibly being real seeing how their geometrically even. Seriously, eliminate everything and what else could handle that? What machine does that?
UFOs, I've never seen one. I can't exactly say I believe there is a possibility of life outside of "us," because in my mind I wanna say there IS. Does that make sense? What I'm stating now has already been mentioned..but, I don't understand how people can think after everything we've been through and all of those "other" planets, why couldn't there be other life? I don't know about us being "visited" by them, but why the hell shouldn't there be life elsewhere? Man, this stuff makes my mind boggle. Life after death. I picture just seeing a black hole. When I lay down to rest at night, I sometimes close my eyes tightly and wonder if that's what I "see" after this lifetime.

crop circles are BS. if they have space ships and can fly from across the universe they can mark an area with something a bit more sophisticated than some markings in a crop field. hell even we can use a GPS system to not need markings everywhere telling us where we are.

they dont last very long, us humans tear them down. after a few get destroyed they would realize that the master speices of the planet is on to them and would use a different way of leaving a message. the only jsutification i can come to in my head is they are just fucking with us, and get humor out of seeing us freak out over some marks on the ground. the crop designs are just too primative for such an advanced civilization.

It can't be for communication. Think about it.
I am part of an alien species that can travel light years in spaceships, enter a planet populated by 6,000,000,000 humans and not be noticed, and leave marks on the ground. I think if they can do all that, and wanted to communicate, they could learn English...

Well if they were that intelligent I would hope they would realize the futility and possible danger of direct communication. Besides...geometry is universal. Somehow I doubt there's an english as a second language course for aliens. Besides...if you REALLY didn't want to be noticed would you leave your mark somewhere in Bumblescum, Arkansas (I know...most of them happen in England/Scotland/Ireland...but you get the point) or in downtown NYC? At least that's how they'd play it if they were smart and had done their homework. You can't keep an eye on the human race and not know our tendencies towards violence.

so why would direct communication be any worse than just confusing the hell out of everyone? if we got a real signal, there's plenty of ways to do it, I highly doubt there'd be mass chaos with people freaking out and world leaders launching nuclear weapons in random directions.
and if they can travel across the galaxy I'm 100% sure they could just listen in on some tv signal and figure out our language w/ out an "Idiots guide for Aliens who want to learn English" book. |

did anyone test these areas for the slight radiation they probably found before there were circles? and how are you gonna look for signs of people coming and going? unless there's mud it'd be really hard. some people have nothing better to do than spend years planning stupid crap like this, so they have plenty of time to think up anything thats possible. |

We had a crop circle happen not to far from where I live. My friends actually stopped by and talked to the Lady that owned the field. I'm sure that some of them are man made, but I have a hard time believing that all of them are. Who knows for sure though.

hopefully if we were smart enough we wouldn't blow a alien craft out of the sky. I mean think about it. how smart would it be for us to blow a spacecraft that traveled the universe from the sky? hell we couldn't defend ourselves from an armada of alien cruisers, we'd be totally fucked haha

we couldnt do anything anyway, all they'd have to do is sit just out of reach and talk through one of the many signals available. so no, i'm sure they would not be afraid of being killed.

What i don't understand is why everybody thinks that if there was aliens they would be some superior beings...maybe they're just as smart or a lot dumber than us?...explain

Well...the obvious conclusion one might jump to is that if they've mastered intergalactic travel, they're at least a wee bit smarter than us. This is why I'm a little cautious of assuming why they do what they do (if they indeed do anything at all). Also, am I the only one who thinks the government really shafted us on the whole Roswell thing? I'm not saying it was a UFO that landed...but c'mon. A weather balloon? Apparently government think tanks can't lie as good as I do.

assuming this race could travel through space. they either A) have been existing a LOT longer than we and therefore have obtain much for knowledge or B) Have been existing just as long as us and are just smart enough to figure something out.
you don't see us up there traveling galaxies in search to contact others. no we're sitting here with a few space stations and a shuttle which we are afraid to put into space..what was the last big thing? the mars landing? how long ago was that? use this to compare ...a man of 11,000 years ago walks up to you and threatens you with a .....club or a rock then you pull a m16 out and burn some holes in him....who would you say is superior? the man with the rock or the man with the gun? although it's a rather Horrible analogy do you get the point? |

well, obviously they haven't "mastered" it...or else we'd probably know a bit more about them. Maybe space travel is just their forte and we are more advanced than them in other areas?(if that's even possible)

.....haha Kyle I would thinl if they were able to put together an engine that could work so efficiently as to put them in space and travel I'd think they'd have some nice weapons or computers or whatever
plus we have no idea how large the universe is....they could have colonized hundreds of planets and be nowhere near us |

Once again, I gotta say, I'm not about to even try and question the motives of a race that could master intergalactic travel.
But here's one for all of the doubters and nay-sayers. If we in fact aren't being visited, then what are all of those crazy things popping up on home videos across the world? Crazy balls of light that move in obviously deliberate fashions and then zoom off at speeds rivaled only by a bone stock Civic. If anyone says swamp gas so help me... Crazy video on Ebaumsworld

the government puts out crap loads of weather balloons. each of the places on this map: http://weather.unisys.com/upper_air/skew/ put them out every 12hours. there's some places that don't show up on that map for some reason. I thought the excuse was some kind of high altitude listening device that was meant to listen for atomic testing by other countries. |

Come on doesn't anyone watch the simpsons? While aliens may have mastered space travel their video games are only as advanced as pong.

Yes the more people that play halo 2 the better, that way everyone will have training with plasma weapons to fight off the eventual alien invasion.
