Not really... First off, its 2.5-liter turbocharged engine is rated at 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. It's connected to a six-speed manual transmission that sends the power through an all-wheel-drive system fortified with DCCD (Driver Control Center Differential). The DCCD system allows the driver to manually select the front-to-rear torque bias or merely set it in automatic mode and let the computer do the work. Further on down the line, the STi is upgraded with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential in front and a mechanically actuated limited slip in the rear. The car sits almost half an inch lower than the standard WRX and features aluminum control arms, inverted struts and a quicker steering ratio. The wheels are 17-by-7.5-inch BBS aluminum alloys wrapped in supersticky Z-rated 225/45R17 Bridgestone Potenza RE070 directional tires. The brake system was upgraded with four piston Brembo calipers in front and two piston versions in back along with an Electronic Brakeforce Distribution system and a Super Sport Antilock system that controls lock up on individual wheels according to lateral G-forces. The interior of the STi gets a laundry list of changes as well. The seats are upgraded with heavier side-bolstering integrated headrests and unique blue Ecsaine fabric. Since weight is the enemy of speed, the STi banished the stereo system to the options sheet and swapped in lightweight rear window glass. The STi specific instrument cluster includes a 9,000-rpm tachometer, 160-mph speedometer and DCCD display to go along with the standard temp and fuel gauges. There's also a driver-selectable shift light so you'll never get so caught up in the power that you forget to grab the next gear. From Edmunds.com There are many changes to the STi.. If this is accurate..

yes. def. left out the 6 speed and DCCD. but all the suspension changes and interior stuff can all be done to the WRX.
heres an example..... mustang GT... alright cobra.... better. all depends on ur budget.. u wanna start with somethin better, u gotta hve the money. if u want somethin decent and eventually do some mods, the GT is the cheaper way to go. i want the STi |

LOL this thread is HILARIOUS. 150-200 hp from a turbo RSX with boost control.
In your mod list you have a SPIRAL MAX. That is a tornado scam pos. You believe in that? Oh god I can go on all DAY. TITANIUM PARTS! Didn't know what a dyno was. This is TERRIBLE. I have lost faith in America's youth. People like this drive on our roads and try to race us, people. What happened? Al Quada put something in the water about 16 years ago, I GUARANTEE it. We went wrong somewhere........but how? Where's homeland defense when you need it? |

Must be nice to have a rich grandpa to buy you a car...how are you getting that 3.5? Taking PE and Cooking classes every semester? Have fun living at home while trying to build your "Ferrari killing RSX." I would much rather be out on my own, I don't depend on mommy or daddy to pay my bills. Maybe I don't have a $20k car, but what I got is nice, and I can mod it myself. I can't believe he didn't know what a ****ing DYNO is.

Yeah, then you can pick up a hot chick...and take her back to mommy's pad....and have you thought of how much insurance is going to be? An 18 year old with a 300 horsepower car? Ha ha! You'll have to pick up a part time job just to pay the insurance bill.

hahah no shit...20 years old with a 3400 dollar insurance a year (damn light poles) hey OPAK relax and read...theres' no way a turbo with a timer and all that crap is gonna boost 150-200 twin turbo MAYBE highly DOUBT it....Your 16 and your into modding cars? thats great....but we've got some years on you. Like posted before Spiral Max = GHAY......... I'm sick of today's youth not listening to their elders...and punks...why do i fight for this country? You get the STi to beat a ferrari give me a call cuz i'll laugh. I also have a 2001 Subaru RS and street racing ins't the world neither is the 1/4 mile and people who think it is have watched Fast and the Furious too much (YOU!!!).........Take it Rallying and race it there...better times...must be nice to have people to throw money into your wallet...some of us who make jack shit have been there and back and are just trying to stay out of the food stamp line....how about u take that money and make a show car? or turbo that motherfuc3r and do something that no one has thought of......Stop tellin people your civic will take a stang...cuz it wont..just like even else here has come to realize..Civic's are not the fastest in the world..and we all have learned that....but hey who else can do soooo many modifactions to their cars?? IMHO and as for you versus a saturn ...depedning on what year...taht civic has a 1.9 liter 4 cylider and is ALLLL plastic...only the hood and trunk lid is metal....its' a hell of a lot lighter

Look, I'm not saying that you shouldn't do whatever the hell you want to your car, it's just that you have to be realistic, like armyguy said. You could probably make an Sti or even an RSX be faster than a Ferrari in the 1/4. Unfortunately, you'd have to pump $50k (or more) into the car, and then you wouldn't even be street legal. I didn't buy a Honda to have the fastest car on the road. I would be happy with mid 13s when I am done, but I will be doing it with full interior and badass A/V system too. And, when you turn 18, I doubt if you will still be thinking its better living with the 'rents than living on your own.

Or if you really wanna a Ferrari Eater buy a LS1
mid 13s stock you can pick up a 2002 Trans Am or Camaro for like 20K... now ... with 2000 bucks you can make it a low 11 sec car |

Ok, heres the deal. I am not exactely living with my parents, i would ea with them for the sake of saving my money. But i am living under my grandpa's house in an apartment that he seldomm rents out. He said i could live there for free.
I know that spiral max works, i have one, and i notice the difference, i don't know what oyu guys wanna say to that. *wispers* I'm not paying for the insurance either The STi won't be a ferrari eeater stock, lol, i plan on spending time on this thing. I am thinking i will have it half way to 3/4 the wya modded the way i want by the time i'm 23-25. Cuz i gotta live (go to europe, movies) I will try to save as much money for it as i can tho. And yes, civics aren't very fast, but for a first car....i won't go there again Oh yea, and that saturn i raced, i saw him again. It was a twin cam 2 litre one. Thnx for alls da help guys. Apreciate it. |

Thank you for realizing that you aren't going to have a 9 second car just because Gramps is paying for it. You can do whatever the hell you want to your car, but when you come in here talking sheeit like you were, people are going to call you on it.

I meant the shit you were talking about your RSX being a "Ferrari eater" and "titanium parts" oh, and don't forget, "whats a dyno?"!! Also, don't forget "my civic could beat your V6 Mustang, probably not the Impala though." Sorry, dogg, it's nothing personal, and I respect that you have goals, it's just that they aren't that realistic. Please just tell me you aren't putting one of those 9 foot high wings on the back of your car.....
