how do I become an american?
alright people i need your info, some of you must have been born somewhere else. So those of you who know how to become an american lets hear how it works.
after a dream last night i decided I'm moving to hawaii in a year or so and will need papers, americano papers that is. where do i go and apply to become an american? how long does it take? whats the cost? if i'm 18 is that a problem? would it just be easier to marry an american girl? (any takers?) btw yes i know this is very uncanadian of me but i really dont care anymore canada rocks as a country but where we are in the world sucks! I want somewhere like hawaii to be where i live and work, canada doesn't offer that so i'm moving to america. |

dude the easiest way is either marriage, or the visa lottery (http://www.dv-2003.com/). other than that there are a few more chances to get to us like labor certification, but it will take up to 5 years and you gotta find a company to apply for you, and then get a green card, and after 5 years get the citizenship. even eith the marriage it will take 6-7 months to become a legal us alien.
anyway i have less than one year till i get my us citizenship, so i could marry you jfwy but i'm already taken:o

Hawaii is U.S. Quote:
Hey, whatchoo talkin' bout? I've lived in CA for all my life, and I've only had my CD player and $800 worth of CDs stolen once... and the pollution isn't so bad... it clears the sinuses. Haha, just kidding. But Cali isn't bad, not that there's anything wrong with HA, except for the humidity and the cost of living. It is nice though, and I've considered moving there too. I guess I'm a step ahead though, what with being a citizen and all... not trying to rub it in. I salute you... those in the Great White North... hehe, jfwy |

I knew Hawaii was US property but it's still a separate little island and that doesn't exactly mean that it has the greatest amount of jobs there...or so I think.
