Engine Prep.
hey everyone...i was just wondering what engine work i have to do to prep my car for boost...I'm hoping to get into double digit PSI's when I get my greddy kit, which is later on down the road... but i thought i might as well start preping the engine...oh and the enigne has about 150K on it....what do i need to do to rebuild it? becuase swapping is a not an option...oh and yes, money is a factor ...thanks guys for any input!!

well since you have that many miles on the car you will need new pistons, new rings, new cams, a new crankshaft or at least a regrind with oversized crank and rod bearings (i'm not sure that's the correct name for them) some new valves, and the total cost of the rebuild will end up being more than a swap.

All you will need is new rods and pistons. If the crank if scarred at all have that micro polished. No need for new cams. Plasigauge everything when you are putting it back together justto make sure the clearances are within spec and there you go. Most engines i build i dont even hone the cylinders.
