need some help with this one...
Well the other day at the mall (just wasting some time) I saw the cutest girl working in american eagle. I would really like to ask this girl out, but I keep thinking that it would be weird because it was the first time Ive seen her.
Picking up girls at class or the gym is one thing...but the mall? I have no clue how to go about this... "Hi could you help me find some pants?" "sure" *pat finds some pants in his size* "hey thanks...wanna go out?" See?! Doesnt that seem weird? help me out asap because Im gonna head back to the mall tomorrow (tuesday) to see if she's there...and again later in the week if she isnt... |

you don't say "hey wanna go out"
you say. hey when do you have break? want to grab a bite to eat or a coffee or something. something along those lines. no pressure. you're not forcing a relationship on her. |

Here, here! Just be yourself and just ask her. I mean the worst she could say would be no. What about talking to her like Juvenile said, that would work for me. Charm and a cute smile go a long way...................wierdos get mall security!

Pick up pants, go into dressing room, walk right back out and ask her if she can help you get outta your drawers.
I dunno man, best I'd say is probably to just try chatting with her a little in the store....if things go well, ask her if she'd like to chat more later over lunch or coffee or something. If things don't go well, you're just another shopper so no big deal. Then again....I'm about the worst person when it comes to meeting people/asking girls out, so maybe you don't want my advice. b |

Hey guys, honestly, give her a sweet smile, say hi and go from there. No, not a come-hither-slimey-I-want-you-in-my-porno smile. Just a nice-sweet-guy-next-door smile. Oh, and no cheesy pick up lines either! Instant turn off! Direct and self confident smiles always work for me. Actually self confidence is really sexy, but just don't act like you own the place, just confident in yourself. BTW, a little shy is ok too. Sometimes it's really cute. Especially with the smile!

ok...I'm not such a good one to give advice either since I really suck at picking up guys (and girls thank god! ) But Everyone has given good pieces of advice so far.
I'd say go in looking for a shirt...and ask her for her help. Grab a couple of shirts, try each one on, asking her which one she thinks looks best on you. Tell her that you are trying to pick out the most perfect shirt becuase you are hoping to look your best for a first date with this girl that you are trying to get to know. She'll tell you which one looks best, and you say "Great! Thanks for all your help....oh by the way....you're the girl that I was hoping to go out on the date with. Would you give me the pleasure of your company?" I dunno if that would work on all girls, but if a cute guy came up to me and did that I'd be pretty flattered...it would show that he cares about what he looks like. This interaction also gives you the opportunity to get to know her a lil bit and to see if you would like going out with her.

oh man, i wish i had girls in my classes. I am the WORST person for introducing myself or meeting girls. Usually its just small talk like "this weather sort of sucks hey" blach blach blach...."you like school so far?" ...elevator talk mostly. It sucks, i'm so shy and have no self confidence. I think this sums it up:
I can talk to girls that i think I am "better" than, (not in a mean way, but like girls that i think would consider me goodlooking) I CAN'T talk to girls that i think I am not good enough for. I haev a hard time talking to ridicously hot girls....it sucks. I just can't start a conversation....girls have to make the move for me...man i'm a wreck |

dude im pretty much in that world...workin my way out.
Its just a girl man...Ive finally learned that. Dont try and think too much about talkin...just do it. Say whatever...who cares?...well say whatever within reason...not "your boobs are huge!" or whatever. If they blow you off...to hell with em...that just means theyre bitches and you wouldnt want anything to do with them anyway. (look at me given advice on something I need help with...ironic) |

ya, i've REALLY been out of the whole 'dating' and crush scene for a while. I just haven't seen/met any girls that i've really been intereseted in. But its WAY harder to tell your self "ok kyle, you can do this...just talk to her...if she's a *****....to hell with her..."
but that is SO hard to do when you like a girl or think you would want to go out with a certain someone. Rejection is so hard on an already low self-confidence. It will make me feel even more less of myself...that's what i'm worried about |

i can talk to just about any guy....but to ask one out- OH HELL NO! Can't do it. I can give advice to other people, but I can't follow my own advice. The guys I've had interest in, have NEVER known...ever. I hate rejection of any sort. So I just shelter myself from that by never letting anyone be able to do it to me. I don't like having my heart broken.

no one likes to get shot-down...it doesnt feel good...its just one of those things that you need to either get used to or suffer from it for the rest of your life. So ya feel like shit now and then...that happens regardless anyways

I'm sorry Pat! We've all been down that road before and it sucks! I know I definitely have. If she doesn't want to take the time to get to know you, then she's not worth it.
