rethink that for a moment.

b18c would get the best performance out of the box
b16a(whichever) is more economical and stills nets very nice performance gains.

motor swap price?
can't say that I've ever paid for a honda swap.
I will tell you a sr20det swap for a nissan is $1500, but it is also hella complicated. So we'll say less than $1500.

go with the gsr motor and the swap would cost 1000-2000 dollars depending on the look they give you at the shop when you say "i need this motor in that car."

he was referring to the new si's.
first off it's an expensive motor
second it's a little different from a b-series, or h for that matter.
it isn't worth it.

Then you have the choice between non-vtec or vtec. Of course you can always do the LS/VTEC swap, but I'd still rather have the B18C1 over the ls/vtec.
You could probably get the ls motor for a little over $1000 and about $1000 to have it installed. Where as the B18C1 is $3,300 and then the cost of installation. So you'll be paying about 2 grand more for the B18C1, but it's better than the cheaper ls/vtec.
Also consider swapping your auto tranny to a 5spd, if you don't know how to drive a stick, learn!
