vafc install

Well i got my vafc II in the other day and spent today and yesterday reading the manual so i would be familiar with it.

Decided to install it today and what a chore that was. I had always had a hard time finding pinout diagrams for p2p ecu'd civics, and i figured thermal's write up in the step by step section would help me out. wrong.

come to find out my ecu plugs are a little different (although the colors are the same) and he has a safc which complicated things a little bit. Luckily i looked it up and found a diagram from apexi on honda tech.

Wired it up, did initial settings, started it. Ran like hammered shit

SO it threw a cel (misfire in cylinder 1) and i also didn't have a RPM reading which made me worry. So come to find out i had the RPM wire from the VAFC connected to the VTEC wire and the VTEC wires from the VAFC connected to some brown wire (oops!). Also i didn't realize i had to change the sensor levels (they were on 06 06, i changed it to 01 01)

started it up.....

and it runs fucking awesome
so now i can play around with all the features and familiarize myself with it some more in preparation for the turbo install.

oh and i'll have some pics of it up soon too

one more step closer
