reciever project

I was scouring my garage today and came across an old toyota tape/radio deck. An idea suddenly pops into my mind. What I plan to do with this is mount it into some kind of box, and hook it up in my room with some kind of speakers and such. All I need is a little clarification from you guys.

Question 1: Since there are two types of power going to the deck in a car (ignition and battery) what kind of power source should I rig up?
Question 2: Has anyone ever done this before?
Question 3: Do I need some kind of resistor for the incoming power?
Question 4: Since I have positive and negative terminals for the power antenna, but no power antenna, should I just stick a cap on the end of these?

I already have the wiring harness and it's diagram, btw. If anyone else can think of some concerns and other complications, feel free to let me know. Oh, and in case you are wondering, I'm doing this just because I have something to prove to myself.

Thanks all

Out
