R1 = horrible beginner bike
Duc = way to freakin expencive, both initially, and maintenece wise, but there is something about that V twin sound and that dry clutch that you just can't get anywhere else
Aprilia = I think some of their bikes are worth every penny
Triumph = over priced, under powered, and over weight
You left out BMW. They are nice bikes, just not my cup of tea.
