Ya know...of all the things said, no one's explained it really.:o

Ok, basically, its an ls integra (b18b) block, which was nonvtec and mount either a gsr (b18c) head or b16 head on top.
Then make the needed taps for oil.
Since most people doing it tend to know about engines, they do a little build w/ some rods, pistons, sleeving, better valves, etc etc.
Now, it does make for a lot of torque and generally, they have high compression (because of the building of it w/ new, different parts), and it makes for a good race motor (drag).
Since the ls block was never designed for vtec, thats its downfall. It cannot survive long under the conditions that it is being put toward...especially under daily driving...........and it dies.
There is also crvtec, which is a b20z/b block w/ a vtec head. Essentially, it is exactly the same because a b20 block is the exact same thing as an ls block, just bored out a little bigger for 2.0L displacement. (it doesnt work either)
