Everyone with swap experience gather round !
This is a very sentimental moment for me. I will soon be embarking upon hte world of swapping. My 95 civic EX motor has finally breathed its last breath, and the car has sat for two weeks while i drive a pos nissan pick'em up. Soon, very soon, im going to buy a nice b16A swap from www.hmotorsonline.com out of a SiRII. Theres one problem: its going to be done not in a shop. Not by experienced honda swappers, but instead, by me and a friend of mine who builds mustangs and has mustang swap experience etc, and rebuilt his v8 with like 603462340 new gaskets etc...
Im technical enough to work at radioshack, and i can identify whatever is under my hood for the most part, etc. But, what i need is to make sure i have some kind of backing. Im going ot have to return to work on monday, and swapping a motor, working 25 hours a week, and school every day until 3 will not be an easy task. Im just trying to see if i can find any people who are experienced that i can ask to be on call at most any time for advice and some form of instruction. Also, a tutorial or some kind of book or website that has step by step instructions for this specific motor would be very helpful. Im planning on it taking like 3 weeks ? with work and such. Working on it constantly with a friend. Also, a list of required tools would be very very very very very very helpful, and some of their uses. Hes got a motor picker and some jack stands and whatnot. I just wnat as much knowledge as possible. thanks in advance.
