basic question: advantage to DVC sub?

I guess I dont understand what the advantage is to a dual voice coil sub? I'm looking at buying a Infinity Kappa Perfect 12" for my g/fs del sol, and I'm finding that some places charge the same price for dual and single coils. I'm running a 600 watt amp. Questions are:

What is the advantage to DVC's (better sound quality, power handling, etc)?

this will be going into a 1.0 cu truck box (space issues). Will it perform okay?

should I go for dvc or svc?
