ok my sub pounds to hard and i noticed it make my spoiler "jump" from being secured to the top of my trunk! When the bass hits, it forces a gap between the spoiler and the surface of the trunk to which it is attached right. So i tried tightening my spoiler...BUT you can only tighten it so much with the 3 bolts..which is dumb...SOOo i was thinkin gi could possible DRILL thru my trunk into another area of my spoiler in hopes it will tighten it, but it's quite the riskey maneuver. so anyone else have any suggestions?

the spoiler is atthed with bolts right? take the nuts off and aplie locktite to the bolts and tighten the nbolts

i'm saying that no matter how tight i put the bolts, the spoiler still "bounces" when the bass hits....locktite won't do it

i can't live without bass..it just bugs me..ih ave 2 12" alpine type R's pwr'd by a wicked Alpine amp and it pounds good..and my buddy has a 04 civic and has one JL W7 (way better sub) but i'm so jealous cuz his car is SO much more solid than mine....sounds way better...wah wah waaaaa

well my guess is that the spoiler is atached to the sheet metal of the trunk lid not the frames underneath it, and that sheetmetal is very flexible. mine does the same thing too, and that is only from the wind

try puting rubber washers on the bolts.

^^^ that might..i shall have a look at that tomorrow..maybe i can take the spoiler off and put rubber seals/washers between the spoiler and the trunk surfance..HMMMMM

i dont think dynamat will stop the air pressure from pushing up on the trunk lid but it could dampen it alittle

Yeah dynamat will definetely work. Cause it will stop the vibrations before getting to the spoiler so it should solve the problems

Dynamat will be a waste. I would use some type of rubber washer or spacer, or get rid of wing, or turn the bass down..

The freq level of bass is supposedly the hardest on your ears.. you are gonna be deaf before you are 20. Going deaf sucks.

Actually from what I have read, they say bass is harder to pick up by the human ear than a treble type sound, and is turned up.. so when your treble type freqs are at XX decible level, you bass is at XXXXX decible level doing more unnoticed damage to your ears.. I think the damaging part is that fact that it doesn't really feel or sound like it's hurting your hearing, unlike ear piercing treble.

A friend of mine had a similar problem with the hatch and wing on his Mustang. He was...let's say....spoiled so his parents bought him the car which was already blown and had a competition stereo system. The bass hit so hard and so low it actually made me nausious once. That aside, Dynamatt did jack crap. Rubber insulation is the way to go, at least on a spoiler.
