i think a 1 liter 3 cyl or a 1.6 4 banger with vtec
and yes....it's going to be VERY light.

Hrmm.. Found some info on it..
In Japan the CRX will exist in two forms: an entry-level model with a 1.0-litre DOHC VTEC triple producing appoximately 74 kW (99 hp) (the engine derived from the block used in Honda's Insight hybrid coupe), and a hardcore 1.6-litre DOHC four cylinder engine (also with VTEC) generating 110-115 kW (about 150 hp). Not incredible, until you realise that the target weight for the four-cylinder coupe is said to cut under 800 kg (about 1920 lbs). That's 200 kg (440 lbs) less than the Mini and 175 kg (385 lbs) lighter than an MR2 Probably be only in Japan..

wow...i'd take a 150 HP car that only weighs only about 1920 lbs. any day...power to weight ratio..its quite amazing... on another note.. it may only have 150 flywheel power but there's always room for mods..

I think there is a market for this car and would love to see them bring it back. Its basically a civic in a nicer shell and dam the crx has nice lines..... 150hp isn't bad, whats the tq though? I would love to see it around 160ft/lbs, then we would be talking!

160 torque on a honda powerplant? its very doubtful... considering that honda builds their engine based on HP not torque.. and i agree with mt. biker about the car havin' a nice market here in the u.S. eventhough its also doubtful that we'll get that car.....
currently, i think that honda is losing its place in the "tuner" scene... and they desperately need a new car in their lineup... the Element is nice, but its not my first choice...

uh oh, its just what a feared. I was thinking they were going to make the mistake of making it another hybrid. they almost did, putting the insight block in there. wanna bet we get the stripped down insight and japan gets the decent engine.
Still thats a great looking body for a swap and good god thats light. I figured the days of light cars was over with! |
