compact cars are getting less compact!
The appeal of the compact car is the fact that it is, well, compact. Some side-effects of driving a compact car tend to be greater gas mileage, superior handling, and an increased throttle response. These are good things for the performance enthusiast. A good power to weight ratio is essential. So what's the problem?
The problem is that YOU are getting fatter, and thus compact cars are becoming less compact, as to contain your massive girth within them. From 2005 to 2006, Honda even opted to widen their front seats by 3/4 of an inch. It's okay with me if you want to complain about not being able to find a seat large enough for that giant mass you call your ass on an airline... or any other form of public transportation for that matter - but when you start to affect the compact car market... sigh. I don't want "bigger" compact cars. I like them just the way they are. Unfortunately, sixty percent of you succumb to gluttony on a daily basis, and as a result; You are forcing auto makers to design larger cars for your... larger asses. So please, before things get carried away - put the drumstick down, wipe the chocolate stains off your face, and for the love of all that is sacred, resist your next Jumbo/Biggie/Super Size temptation. Compact car performance enthusiasts will thank you for it... and so will your ass.

I am offended, I am one of those people you talk about, well kind of. I used to weigh over 400 pounds, and in the past year i have droped close to 100lbs. its called the college student diet, where you spend more money on booze, drugs, and noise ordinace bills that you have barelly any money left over food, let alone, just enough to pay most of your bills!!!
J/K about the offended part, but proof is in the altima, look at how it has changed, it has gotten at least six inches wider, and close to a foot and a half longer, just because of the fat asses in the usa alone!

At 6'4"/230lbs, I'm by no means a small guy but you know what...that's not a car company's fault. If I don't fit in the car, I'll find another one that I do fit in. It's not the company's job to accomidate me if I'm 4'0"/90lbs or 7'0"/600lbs. Make the best car you can and let the fat fucks that can't fit into them worry about the rest.
