				Anyone play TXR3 yet?

I didnt even know it was out yet; i stumbled across it at best buy. twenty bucks, and I already knew the last one was good, so I bought it. Pretty sweet so far, they made a LOT of improvements over Zero, game engine is smoother, physics are better, supposedly the maps are even more accurate, the cars are actually arranged by make (yay!)

If you get a chance and have twenty bucks burning a hole in your pocket, pick this game up. It should entertain for quite sometime. (BTW: If you have no idea what I'm talking about Tokyo Extreme Racer is an under appreciated, un advertised, awesome racing game that is modeled very faithfully from Tokyo. You basically drive the highway, looking for rival car gangs to challenge. When you win, you get money, and unlock parts and cars, and work your way up through the gangs and their leaders. You earn a name (which is quite funny sometimes) and can customize your car quite extensivly (In TXR3, VERY much so)) My only gripe is that there are no other cars on the road other than the same yellow busses (and the gang cars). In the last one they at least mixed it up a bit with semis and station wagons. oh well. |

TXR Zero was okay. I enjoyed playing it at my friends house for awhile. All up until I kept having to race the same exact cars all the time. Started to get boring.

yeah, after a while It does get repetitive, though I hope they improved that problem in this version.

No, as far as I know it is only for PS2. I don't know about the first version, but I think TXR2 was for dreamcast, then they released Zero for PS2, which was basically the same as 2 for DC, and know 3 is only for PS2. I could be wrong... Don't go out and buy a PS2 just for this game, but if you've got one, its worth picking up |

I bought Zero when I got my PS2...I figured it was a racing game and it was $20. $20 I'll never have back. It took me damn near an hour just to figure out what to do and even then I thought it was lame as hell.

yeah, I wish they would focus less on body mods and crap and more on the performance side of things. Its cool nonetheless, and yes it does take some patience to get used to. What really sucks is when you are playing GT3 A-spec, Grand Theft Auto, and need for speed underground (which I think kinda sucks, btw) and you have to get used to each ones game physics.

Don't forget True Crime: Streets of L.A. That game almost owns GTA...it's just way too easy to beat.

By the way, If any of you figure out what the passwords mean in TXR3 when you set new times on the test and tune track, tell me. I've been writing these down, but I can't find any place to use them (yet). A Google search turns up nothing! |

I like TXR3. I'm 47% done. It doesnt feel as repetitive as zero. The only civilian cars are yellow buses and the music sucks but what do u expect for a $20 budget game. Even the disk, its just a dvd with a blue label that has the logo on it.

Theres no Honda in the game either. honda was askin for too much money and they didnt like the idea that u can do engine swaps with their cars. so no hondas in the game. The next installment should be the best. I love this game. |
