Hey how did you get access to the screws?
I tried to remove mine, not knowing there were screws in there. Well I did ruin my front panel. How did you get those suckers out?

There are 2 screws on teh bottom, and 1 screw behind the clock. Take out the clock wit a flat screwdriver. Grab behind the air vents and pull it out gently wit some force. There are 5 clips, 2 on the top, 1 on each side, and 1 on the bottom. After that is removed then there are 4 screws around the deck.. remove those and ur done.. this is for the 6th generation accord.

Thanks
Its about the same for my Civic, except for the clock part. I finally figured that crap out.
