Cluster Swap...Mileage matching?!
I have my new cluster now ( with a Tach) but the mileage on the new tach is at 157k.... I only have like 78. Is there any way that I can change the new one to match my old mileage.
I figured if there was any easy way...then people would be doing this all the time before selling thier car. But is there a way I can do this???? ICE |

How do I flip the plastic cover...or take it off??
How do I flip/ or take off the clear plastic cover (of course...after I remove the cluster!!) It seem to be glued or something..or is it just stick on real tight. I don't want to break it...if possible. Thanks!!!
PS. Can they tell if I do flip the mileage back???? ICE |

you have to use a heat gun and soften up the glues then pry it off with a flat head....
its real hard to tell when someone puts one back... but if your caught theres huge fines.. and i mean HUGE..... but if you can set it back without having it traced then your fine.... just as long as they see that the cluster has not been tampered with |

Is it illegal to change them even if you specify that the odometer mileage is not the correct mileage?
There's nothing illegal about doing a cluster swap, in which case the incorrect mileage will show.....but I'm not surprised if it is illegal to change the mileage whether you're honest about it or not. b |
