yes its illegal...i dont care

anyone know how to change the milage on the odometer? Id like to swap out mine (broken ) for an Si cluster and I want to match the milage...or at least make it 45K to match the swap's milage.

so despite it being illegal I dont care and I would like to know how to do it

I thought that if you have the same engine but trade diff gauge cluster, doesnt the gauge cluster read the milage from the engine instead?

well the engine is a changeable part. it doesn't matter if the car has 1million miles on it and the engine only 1 mile, the odo shoud read 1 mile.

and there are 2 ways to change it. one involves dissasembling the cluster and messing uop with it and the other involves taking the speed sensor out.

ok...so...just remove the sensor? it is put back right? 'cause...without it...well you know... is it a little more in depth than that or is it really that simple? so remove the sensor...replace it in the car...and the miles change?

no remove the sensor and turn it with a drill machine till you get to the desired mileage.

WTF !!!!

GO TO THE FREAKING JUNK YARD, BUY THE GUAGE CLUSTER, WITH THE MILES YOU WANT, AND THEN FOLLOW THESE HERE INSTRUCTIONS, CEPT PUT THE NEW ONES IN, INSTEAD OF THE OLD ONES OF COURSE, AND YOU CAN LEAVE OUT THE REVERSE INDIGLO GUAGES IF YOU LIKE.

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forum/mes...threadid=30481

sorry about the caps.
