98 GS-T vs VW 1.8T GTI Anniversary Edition
This has to be the best so far. Not because it was a better match, but because the driver turned out to be a pretty cool kat.
I was headed to my girl's house. I was staring at the longest red light in America. Crossing the intersection was this blue GTI. He revved and I could hear his DV. I changed my turn signal to head the other way. I chased him down and got next to him. His friend was pretty excited(yelling out the window). He headed towards the interstate and I followed. I knew this would be a good race. We got our rolling start. Going about 70, I hear him downshift. I drop to third. And we take off. Dead even @ 90 MPH when we both spot a Highway patrol and proceed to test out our brakes. We jumped the next exit. We stopped off in a parking lot. All he had was an Injen intake(only had the car about 2 weeks). Sat & chatted for a while. He told me about a few meets that he goes to and I told him about the team I'm with. Apparently he thought my car was a GS until he heard the DV sound off. All in all probably the best race so far. I'd really like to see what that GTI has on a wide open road. I imagine we'd be pretty close. 1.8T's have some serious potential. And that Anniversary Edition looks very nice! Recaros & 18" wheels stock. What more could ya want?
