Here's what I'm looking for...

Alright...I'm trying to figure out how I'll have all of my A/V stuff set up when I get back home (DVD player, PS2, VCR, cable box, etc.) and I got to thkning. Does anyone know if such a thing exists that would allow me to wirelessly connect things like my PS2 and DVD player to my TV? Just like a simple transmitter with RCA inputs and a receiver for the TV end? I figure that'd be wicked awesome, but I've never come across anything like it.

Extrapolate.

Errr....no. I'm not going to have as much space to set all of my stuff up so I figured I'd have my TV and VCR/cable box on one small stand and then put my DVD player and PS2 on another stand on the other side of the room. It's weird...it's a pretty big room but the space where my TV is gonna go isn't very big since that's also where my desk is going (note: the TV will not fit on the desk).

while i'm sure those do work, you need to be careful with them. I used a similar device (for a customer), and in testing it at our house, we came across these interesting points:

1. microwave oven causes interference
2. cordless phone caused insane interference
3. wireless router caused problems

and the quality was less than desirable even when all interference was removed. Wireless may not be the best idea. It's possible more expensive units might be less susceptible to simple interference. Sorry i can't be more insightful on this one. just dont expect it to work perfect.

Yeah...the problem is that most of them use the 2.4GHz spectrum which is already insanely clogged anyway (routers, microwaves, cordless phones, some cell phones, or anything else that uses a microwave signal). They usually advertise having 4 channels, but the variation in signal frequency is so tiny I doubt it would really matter. But I figured out a way to set all of my stuff up in a reasonable way even if it's not exactly how I want it. That, and all of the cheap shit only supported PAL TV signals which won't work here in the states. All of the NTSC capable models were relatively expensive (considering I needed more than one).

And Arnel...if you don't understand PAL and NTSC you shouldn't be downloading DVDRs.

Look around.. They make 5.8GHz AV senders. That is what I really want that way you don't have to worry about your wireless networks, phones, microwaves, or any of that other stuff that interferes with 2.4GHz frequencies.
