Which intercooler? Help!
Hey guys,
I just got my scholarship check in the mail, so time to buy my intercooler. I think I'm gonna go with the GReddy one since its straight bolt on for my turbo. I've seen the type 31 and 24 online, but yesterday I saw that they had a type 26, which was cheaper than both the 31 and 24. So help!!! Which one should I get? I'm looking to boost 8-10 psi (6 daily driving, 10 at the track). Thanks! |

I would not go with a Greddy intercooler. They are far too expensive for what you get. Try giving spearco a call. You want a bar and plate design.

Um, doesn't the scholarship place CHECK where their money is being spent?
Most do.

ha ha... thanks for the warning
but actually its a state wide scholarship fund, and my parents pre-paid my college tuition. therefore, the statewide scholarship money that would of paid for my tuition is re-imbersed to me. i just pocket the money. they do not check how it is spent. im ok, but thanks for looking out for me! anyone else on the intercooler? |

is it possible to get the APEX GT intercooler and be able to match it up with my setup since it states "only for the APEX 92-95 Civic EX"?

Since you have the GReddy kit, you'll probably have to customize some piping to mate it with the APEX....

Well, I figure the turbo's outlet should be pretty much in the same location (the GReddy and APEX). The piping goes from the turbo to the drivers side, and back through the passenger's side to the intake manifold. I just don't like the GReddy intercoolers since the piping comes and goes from the same side, and plus the size is small compared to the opening, or at least in my opinion. My buddy has the APEX GT intercooler on his MX3, and it fills the gap perfect.
If anyone has any input on this please let me know. Thermal, you said you saw a new GReddy intercooler at a shop that was perfect for the Civic, do you know or remember which one it was? |
