Slowing things down.....
Well, it's time to slow down on this car thing. I just signed a contract to buy a $240,000 home: 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, fireplace, big kitchen, big living room, 2 stories, jacuzzi, 1 car garage.
I pretty much achieved my goal on my integra minus head work to dyno over 500whp. I know that the motor is already capable. I just have to prove it. But, I dont really care about it right now. I'm tired of wasting money for rent cost and car parts. I'm getting old and I have no investments whatsoever. My monthly mortgage is going to be high, but I know that I can afford it. I just wont have money for my car anymore, unless I keep doing side jobs on intercooler piping, downpipe, and exhaust fabrication.... which I still plan on doing. I'll post pictures later...... Quarter million? Thats really cheap...(sorry, living in SF). You'll do okay man! Share some numbers with us man, we've been waiting to see actual proven results since the beginning.
I guess I wasn't as much as a car enthusiast that I thought I was...I wasted 2.5k on bolt-ons and rims for my Teg when I first got it (when I was 17, only two years ago), I figured that was already enough. Will never go above a sound system and rims for any car ever again. We all have to stop at some point in our lives, car-ing is just way too expensive, for anyone who's just a "normal" citizen like us. The cost:fun ratio gets overwhelming, 30k man, enough to get you a nice new family car to share with your wife and future kids. |

I know where you're coming from Arnel. I'm starting to wonder if I should dump anymore money into the Mustang other than maintainence and repairs. But shit dude...for $240K around here I could buy a fucking mansion. Well...not quite, but probably at least a 4 bedroom house with a 3 car garage. Must be nice to be an E9. Can I call you Master Chief from now on?

great idea with the house. i wish i would have bought one when i first moved here 4 years ago, most houses have doubled in value in the past 5 years here. sounds like a nice house man. something like that would be 250-400 here.

Congrats man. That's how it works. One day you wake up and say "I spent how much on my car?". Cars are never investments (with exception of few). Guns, real estate, stocks, bonds..... Those all appreciate. I know I've spent too much money on my cars. But it is a hobby. As long as it doesn't come before other things in life you'll be ok.
I'm working on positioning myself to get a house. My dog needs a yard (mini horse). The downstairs neighbors probably hate me. Oh and the wifey wants a house too..

Good luck with the house, sounds like a killer crib.. It's definately a more worthy investment then the cars are.

thanks fellas
I'll be closing mid next month. I'm really excited. I already have future plans for the house. I want to built a detached 1.5 car garage on the side yard. I'll make my current garage as another bedroom or make it a "shop" where all my equipment is going to be located. |
