um operating system not found??
so i almost broke my laptop a few days ago, but it now seems i just fucked it up. i was using google maps to drive somewhere and had my laptop with me and when i got there i put it on the passenger floorboard to get it out of sight, then it stormed like a tropical storm, wind blowing well over 45mph and rain so hard you had no more than 25-30 ft. of visability. and apparently the car i was driving leaks a little bit and accumulates in the passenger floorboard. well i et back in the car after waiting the storm out for 20 mins longer than i needed to be at the place and i look down and see it sitting in a goddamn puddle of water, it was on when i left it, it was off(at least the power indicator was off) when i came back. so im thikning FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK there goes the last 6 months of my life since ive kept all my writings, songs, lyrics, you name it on the computer. on my way home i look over and the light is back on. i quickly flip it open and do a hard shutdown(just hold the button till its off) just to minimize the time electricity and water are playing together inside it. i diodnt touch it till about 10 mins ago, about 48 hrs time. ive had it sitting on a laptop cooling pad (basically 2 computer fans that suck heat from the bottopm and blows it out the back) to help move the moist air out from the laptop, thus drying it faster. i just tried to turn it on and it starts booting up then it says "operating system not found" um.... wtf. its getting power, the screen works, i can get into the bios(i didnt do anything in it, but i can access it) and i think the boot options(which imma mess with after this post) but it wont start vista.
help, please. i hope my HD isnt fucked

put the hdd in the fridge and try booting it after the drive is cold. sometimes that helps out with bad drives. if it's a sata drive just plug that in to a sata caontroller on another computer and recover your data.
