H22 Eg Possible Tranny/Shift Cables Problem
On my way to work this morning I had a little problem. I went to shift my hatch into 2nd and nothing. The shifter goes up and everything but its like the car is still in nuetral. I then tried all the other gears. Same result. Any ideas as to what could be wrong. I had to have it towed to my house while I was at work. I've gotten a few ideas from other boards and the most common answer if broken shift cables.

Ok, bad news is it isn't the shift cables. The speedo is moving. My mechanic stopped by and we checked the shift cables first. They are moving properly. He noticed the speedo moving and the noise coming from the tranny. So I guess I need to start saving. I really hate H22 tranny's.

It ended up being the tranny. I really hate H22 tranny's. This time, I just replaced the whole thing instead of having it rebuilt.
