HELLO EVRYONE,
The oil pressure sending unit is a common culprit. The correct thing to do here is put a manual gauge on it and see what the pressure really is but the sensors are pretty cheap and easy to replace so I usually just swap it for a new one. That light tells you your car is having a heart attack. Hopefully it's just a sensor but you need to stop driving REGARDS |

Standard oil pressure sensors work by displaying a warning signal when the oil pressure falls outside of the set range. Two important components to the oil pressure sensor include the spring-loaded switch and a diaphragm. ... The pressure switch is mounted onto the side of an engine block and wired to an oil gallery.

Multiple systems in your car are designed to maintain the correct engine oil level and pressure. ... The oil pressure sensor is hooked directly to the oil pressure gauge on your instrument cluster. When lower than normal oil pressure is detected, the pressure sensor will make the gauge in the car reflect this change.
