Engine Grounding

I have been hearing and seeing a big push about these grounding systems for your engine. I've seen charts of claimed hp/tq gains, but there all from the manufacture. Can anyone tell me if these things are worth getting?

Not really worth it if you ask me.
If you really want them, make your own - trip to ho' depot and under $20 in parts.
Its just wire...nothing special.

(You can find the point diagrams on google and honda-tech by searching)

I'm guessing the only reason you'd notice a difference is if your stock grounds are horribly out of shape, partially disconnected, or something like that... It won't hurt, but I wouldn't spend big $$$ on a grounding kit.

i made my own. But i have seen gains on modified vehicles, however i don't think it's worth the $150+ price tag that most grounding kit manufactures want for it. Basically i went to wal-mart, got some connectors and one fat battery cable. Then i had some wire laying around the house that i used to make grounds. It's pretty self explanatory.

Seen gains on a dyno? Or did you just "feel" the difference?

hmm i believe i saw a dyno chart in a mag, i mean it was like 2 maybe 3 peak hp, on a boosted vehicle, and i think the kit they used on it costed like $200+, fcuk that. think it might have been in import tuner

Sounds like the gains are too small to be worth it on most cars then... I'm not spending $$$ to gain .01 hp

you can get differences greater than that by just letting the car sit there between runs and not changing anything.

Thanks for the input everybody. My car is boosted (6psi. from a JR supercharger). Supposed 2-3 peek hp ain't shit, not for the $. I'll take your advise and just do it myself.

Whats the prefered gauge wire?

on DSM cars the grounding system is horribly and a grounding them with better grounds makes a big difference. Supposedly 7-10 WHP. Which is incredible to say the least for a bunch of ground wires. This grounding concept for Hondas has come from the DSM cars. I saw the same dyno, and yes I think it was import tuner that showed 2-3 WHP. So is it hype or truth? I think its hype personally. U know not to believe everything u read.

As far as what gauge to use... I used 4 gauge on all my custom ground wires.
