LS/VTEC with NOS or NOT?
Type R head
B18B bottom end Skunk2 stage2 camshafts, retainers, and valve springs Spoon 70mm TB STR Fuel Rail, cam gears CTR Pistons GSR tranny Cometic head gasket Type R intake manifold Comptech Race Header Prelude Injectors *Apexi V-AFC* Now... I want to get NOS, but not sure if it's a good idea. As stated on the NOS catalog, "Do not use aftermarket chips or other devices that advance ignition timing as detonation may occur" So everyone that has NOS is using stock ECU? haha... no... Also, is compression too high for NOS? Does anyone have any experience? ideas? comments? etc? Let me know. Thanks! |

the chips theyre talking about are the ones that you plug in and they just advance the timing for a little more power. the v-afc doesnt even mess with timing, i dont think. even if it did the v-afc allows you to change it unlike a retarded chip.
the compression should end up being about 11.5-11.8:1, you should be able to run a small shot of nitrous with premium gas with out problems as long as you have the timing retarded a little. |

You should get the MSD digital SCI + ignition - it has an automatic (and up to a 10 degree )ignition retard and is specifically made for applications where naws is used. |
