Slow EJ6, or others.
Well I was planning on buying a basic '96 DX hatchie, and I seemed to notice something that bugged me with the '96-98 civics/civic hatchbacks.
I know this is really retarted to get worked up over, but I HATE how the '96-98 civics (on the corner lamps) have that.. ..thing. Not really sure how to explain it, but it looks different from a 99-00 head lamp piece. the 99-00 looks sharp and clean, while the 96 has that kinda semi-transparent bumpy looking shit on the side. Is there anybody that makes these "clean" headlamps for the 96-98 civics? I know thats a dumb reason to choose one car over another, but I'm anal like that. Whats the difference in the mounting of the headlights? I could probably get some custom brackets fabricated so I can sturdily mount those 99-00 headlamps onto a 96.

well I know exactly what your sayin...the 99-00 are much better looking.
You could just do the conversion w/ some knock off fenders and front, slap on a CF hood and then the lights and cut the radiator support so it fits better and there ya go... thats the best advice that I can give....anyone else got ideas? |

lol. Hmm. the radiator support IS molded a different way. I think I accidently got 96-98 lights, but i ghetto mounted them onto my car using 3/4 screws u were supposed to use haha. Oh well. they dont flap around.. its all good

iracemyctr is a moron. k thx.
anyway.....you could just get the car and then do the 99-00 conversion as was said. nobody makes headlights for the 96-98 that look like the 99-00. and the 99-00 headlights wont just fit on cuz the fenders are different, so is the hood and the bumper. |

soooo.. I would have to purchase '99-00 fenders, front bumper and would have to cut the radiator support JUST to get those beastly sexy nut busting headlights?
WELL DAMN COUNT ME IN! AHHA. Eh. Fak. I'll have to see about fitment w/ the radiator support.

I should get some z3 fenders, and not paint them, but rather primer them and leave them on my car. That way my turbo will spool up much faster and be much cooler leading to 500 hp to the wheels which means I will have monster slicks on my car all the time, and that means that I will die when I turn.
z3 fenders, how much are they? :( ew. wait no they're too gay ahhaha. I'll just hit up some salvage yard- no biggie.

you could always get the 99-00 radiator support instead of cutting the old...but cutting is FREE
Im all about the conversion 'cause the 99-00 look SO much better IMHO with the little vents and the more angular headlights...but I'll probably never do it...not cost effective for me...Id rather paint her (championship white) what kind of cost are we lookin at for the this conversion (yes I know I could do the research myself but as you all know Im lazy) |

you can get the conversion for about $300, just gotta look. a friend of mine just picked up a nice EBP Si front end for $300 incl. lip. not bad at all. you can get fenders from www.asylumms.com dont worry about if they suck or not, i picked up a fender from them when i get in the accident and it fit perfectly. i was stupid though - i shoulda done the damn conversion then but i didnt......oh well, only cost me $175 for everything anyway. i want ctr headlights though. |
