Gas Mileage

What are you folks getting for gas mileage out there? I have a 1990 Honda Accord, 98,000 miles and put in Bosch Platinum plus 4 plugs so far. Any other tips to squeek out for more MPG's
I was thinking of getting a VW Diesel TDI but was curious as what you folks are getting for mileage?
Also, how long are these puppies lasting? I am assuming that 98,000 isn't an awful lot of miles for a well maintained Honda.

Those plugs are bad for your car first of all. They don't work well with Japanese engines... I used to have them. They are better in German cars.

Anyway, I get between 24-32 depending on how I drive.

i get like 19 mpg but the pedal is to the metal almostr all the time and it idles like 15 minutes in the morning and when i get out of school (gotta love remote start). also your question regarding the 98k miles that's only the break in for a honda . mine is at 143k and the engine is running strong with exception of the plugs and i'm too lazy to change them in 10 degrees weather

I am running bosch+4 plugs also, they are ok, but I also heard that they are not made for japanese motors. I am just as lazy/cold as hondamaniac to switch my plugs to the NGK's that have been sitting in my back seat for about 2 months. Get some ngk's!

as for how long your engine will last: 98k?! ha thats nothing, its still young! It all depends on how well you take car of it. Like mine, they guy that had it for ten years didnt maintain it properly, and now its dying at 170k. But properly maintained these engine can go until 250k and well beyond. for performance purposes, I don't know. You'd need serveral rebuilds along the way, I think.
I run about 25 mpg, but I have a lot of probs currently.
