Space Shuttle Columbia Missing/Exploded

This is a sad story. This just happened this morning. NASA hasn't said that the shuttle exploded, but has warned people in nearby areas to avoid debris as it could be hazardous. It was supposed to land at 9:16 this morning.

Creepy thing is, NASA has only had 2 accidents before this

Challenger, and the fire on Apollo that killed 3 people..

well, both of those anniversaries are within a week of today

also, they have never had an accident on re-entry, its always been on take off..

wierd eh

oh well.. dont worry about what you cant change :(

Yeah its very sad. They said the biggest piece they have found so far is 4'. They didn't say of what.

I remember actually getting to see what the space shuttles were made of. The white & black areas you see on the outside are a very soft foam like material. You can put a dent/cut in it with your fingernail. Its made to withstand temps of ~7000+ degrees.
