Teriyaki Turkey?

Well, no not quite... eh, not at all really.

But, last year, my sister and I decided to do something new with our turkey. So, we decided to experiment with the process of osmosis, or "turkey brining" (for those kitchen nuts out there).

The process of brining, or soaking the turkey in salted water prior to baking has been around for quite some time, unknownst to our family.

The results of this 'brining': holy sh-moley. Wowza. good stuff.

Any cool Ideas for turkeys for this christmas? I want to try something funky... (not a fried turkey cuz thats to phatty.)

that's funny I was just about to put deep fried..

it's not that fatty... you just have to have the oil good and hot and a burner that's got enough juice to keep it up to temperature.

fried food only gets saturated with fat when it's being pulled out and it cools down. while it's cooking the juices are too busy pushing out to let the grease in. If you pull it SUPER fast and dump it in paper bags (repeatedly as they become saturated) it'll soak up almost all the fat.

The only other good one I've seen is cooking it upright with a can of something tasty up it's butt. as the turkey cooks the tasty juice in a can boils and permiates the meat..

oh christ I'm gettin hungry
