Lucky Number Slevin
If you're thinking about seeing this movie, do it. I never saw a trailer on TV, but downloaded it anyway. As always, I have made the right decision. I, like many of you, was wary of any film that had Josh Hartnett and Bruce Willis in it. The strange thing is, they both turned in exceptional performances. Add to, the pot Ben Kingsley and Morgan Freeman and you've got a suprisingly winning combo. The dialogue in this movie is key. It is easily some of the best dialogue written this year. I'm sure it' won't be up for awards since Hollywood only liked to fellate box office draws with awards...but it certainly is better than 95% of anything that will win any kind of shitty award. As for a synopsis, the story is way too intricate to condense into a few short sentences. Intricate, but not confusing. I'll just say it's a revenge flick of the highest caliber. Asian film directors are no doubt jealous of the badassity of the revenge taking place here. And that's saying something.
