Need A/r Opinion
The plan is unfolding like this:
b16a (1gen) forged rods 9 somethin' compression pistons aem ems management t3 turbo intercooled PROBLEM: The t3 I have now has an a/r of 36 on the turbine side and 48 on the compressor side. Im shooting for 300 hp at up to say 13lbs of boost. I want mid to high response, but I don't want my top end to level off because of the low a/r of the turbo. Do any you knowledgable turbo guys notice a problem, or do you think I'm on the right track. Even if you notice something other than the a/r, this is my first turbo project. Thanks for your help |

low ar sizing should not be a problem if 300 hp is your goal. When you star wanting higher levels of boost and power, then AR size starts coming into play, but with a larger AR, you start running into some fitment problems- spool time.

The A/R and the turbo in general is way too small to make 300 whp on 13 psi. Its hard to get 300 whp on a GSR with a 18G greddy kit.
