				As I was driving...

OK, I didnt get a chance to go to the Honda dealer today (I will go FOR SURE TOMORROW). As I was driving home the the drive felt REALLY bad. Quite bumpy. So as I pulled over ASAP, and went to look at the wheel. It was kind of crooked, and not aligned right. I looked at the bolts and all 3 were loose. I mean to the point where I could screw them off with my hand. Anyway, I had to get my car towed home. It was free though because my friends father drives a tow truck and I gave him a call. anyway, that is my story. I am so frustrated.

Dude, I really don't understand you. Everyone said don't drive with 3 lugs on, so I think you should have made it a point to swing by the dealer today. Good thing your wheel didn't fall off

I know, I know. I gave the Honda dealer a call yesterday and talked to this service manager to inquire about price, etc. and he said that I should be okay to drive on 3 lugs for a few days, but to get the car in soon. So I figured I would be okay for a day or so. I guess I was wrong. But I had no reason not to believe the guy. I mean he does work there, and I would have thought he knew what he was talking about.

The key to driving on 3 lugs is make sure they are tight enough not to come loose.. There should be like 80 lbs-ft of torque on those things.

You're licky the wheel didn't come off. Just becuase someone works at a dealer doesn't meant they know it all.

UPDATE: I just got home from a long day of hanging around at the dealer. I took my car in a 9:00 this morning and didnt get it back until 5:00 in the late afternoon. I was told it would be ready at 10....then 1...then 3...and finally 5. ALSO turns out that a 2nd stud was also busted. The mechanic recommended replacing all 4 metal studs, so I went ahead with that. Get this though...each stud costs 4 dollars, they replaced all 4, the bill was 202.00. So the parts cost me 16 dollars and the rest was labor. OUCH!

i know where you are comming from. they have to rip apart all the wheel assembly to get to the stud, and then put it back.
