Here goes. For the last 22 years I have been a nice guy. It now occurs to me that nice guys don't finish last. They don't finish at all. We get a big freakin DNF because we are usually too busy helping other people to realize that there is even a freakin race. Well last night I was told that I am not only sexist, but that I am a giant a**hole, and that I should feel sorry for anyone that knows me. Well since apparently I am a sexist a**hole, I figure its about time for me to start acting like one. I'm tired of helping people out only to be s**t on in return. Maybe I just need to be the s**ter instead of the s**tee. Someone once told me, "F**k everyone else. You are the only one that can look out for #1. Survival of the fittest." That is now my attitude. I no longer care about anyone other than me. Please, don't anyone ask me for help because I will only be an unreliable a**hole from now on. Its funny how the a**hole gets the job, the promotion, the girl, and everything else in life. I'm glad that I now see the light. Here's to a better 22 years as the biggest a**hole I can be!

I am totally sympathetic to your cause bro. I was about to post something similar, but damn you said it so well. I've always been the nice guy, and fuckin eh, I'm not getting anywhere fast. I have noticed though, the more helpful you are and nice, the more people walk all over you. Fuck it, I'm tired of it all!! Women always say they want a nice, fuckin sensitive man. BULLSHIT. How come they ALWAYS go for the assholes then?? Do they think they can change them? Yeah right.

Dude...it's all about a combination of the two. Around here and to people I don't know I can be the biggest asshole I wanna be and not think twice about it. When someone I know and am on good terms with needs a hand, I'm usually the first to step up and help if I can. I've been called a collosal asshole and a charming sweetheart all in one week...it just depends on who you're getting the information from. Anybody spouting that whole "you gotta look out for #1" bullshit has obviously seen the movie "Wall Street" one too many times and will forever be friendless and the punchline of many jokes. You think you've got it bad now? Try out your new asshole persona for a few weeks. You'll see just how shitty it gets. It's all about balance.

my advice dont ditch the nice guy thing completly, heres the thing I decided to be somewhat asshole but when it comes to girls be the nice guy with alittle attitude..plus this way you will get a girl worth keeping, not some skank that will cheat on ya the first moment they get.
I can be a huge prick if I want, but I tend to be the gentleman to the ladies.

hey im just a young gyuy but i know better then to ditch who i am because its hard. Never forget who you are.. I think someone once said character isn't what people say about you or to you but the choices you make.

Once again, who asked you? I didn't put this up here to see what everyont thinks about it. I put it up here as a vent. I couldn't care less what you think about it. A-holes do have character, bad character is still character. BTW, it is working just fine.

You know, Ive come across this theory myself, and in most aspects you right. But I've found it best to be a mix of both. I dont go out of my way to help everyone any more. If they ask for it, I'll consider it depending what I'm doing, or feel like doing. You were right you being to only person to look out for number one. No one else could give two sh!ts about whats going on in your life. Sure they will act sympathetic to your face, but in the end you will just be another person in need.

Dude...I'd feel worse if I killed a squirrel than if I killed a human. At least animals (other than humans) don't kid themselves about what they do...they eat, sleep, shit, and fuck. We do the same thing but pretend there's more to it. So yeah...human beings are worthless.

I have sort of a personal vendetta against the squirrels. They used to live up in my attic and make hella noise from 4AM to 6AM. I bought a squirrel trap and trapped like 15 of em, and then took them down to the park and let em go. They just kept coming back. In Contra Costa County you are required by law to exterminate them and not relocate them. I was technically breaking the law. But GT40, I do understand you. Humans are just as worthless as squirrels.
