Like the title says, which companies make good struts for Civics are just for any car. I know Tokico is a good one, who else?

What the hell is the difference between shocks and struts anyway? Are they the same dam thing (they look similar :P) and if they're different, does it matter if I put shocks or struts on my Civic? Yes, I'm a rookie

i would get the koni yellows. but knoi blues are good also.

you should get adjustables. that way you can raise and lower ride.

Koni's are lifetime guaranteed (atleast the yellows are). Tokicos, and KYB's are not. The choice is clear.

Where did you get your Koni's at? For how much? Installation costs?

I installed them myself. I got the Koni/neuspeed shock setup (shortened 20 MM for lowered cars). I think I paid like 550 shipped for them. BTW these shocks are fully adjustable shocks. I used the same ones on my auto-x car.

Hondaman-iac will give you a very good price on a set of koni yellows

Installation fee - $0
Its something that you can do as long as you can make sense of a few nuts and bolts. They do come w/ a sheet that shows how to assemble them, also.

Plus we can help you w/ any issues you have while doing it

The terms 'struts' and 'shocks' mean the same thing, and are interchangeable. At one time, a 'strut' referred to a 'shock' with the spring attached to the 'shock' body as a single integrated package, as opposed to the spring being mounted seperately to the swing arm, or whatever. Now it's just a fancy way of saying 'shocks'.

BTW, I prefer KONI's too...

at the place where i got my KYB GR2's, they told me they have a lifetime warranty on them.

^Im pretty sure they dont come w/ a lifetime warranty, few months tops maybe.
Could always call and ask them directly though

Uh...thx for the help first guys. But how often do these things break? Do they break at all? The previous owner (which is a dumass) has been using cut springs on the stock shocks for like at least 7 years (the car is a 93) and surprisingly the suspension system has not been shot...close to it though.

I'm working up a deal with a local shop for a set of Tokico HP series shocks/springs for 400$ even, isn't that a good deal? I've shopped around the last week or so and Tokico shocks itself is 300$. I will rarely race with the civic, its basically a daily driver with minor modifications, so I think the Tokico setup is good. Don't you guys think so?
