1/4 mile time

So my friend ran a 16.7 in his 97 civic ex with only an exhaust and he wanted to know if that is decent or not. Anyone have anything to compare that with. It's stick by the way

cashizslick, i think u should go to the track and see how fast your car goes with your current mods...then you'd have a baseline to see how much difference a new motor makes...

yeah my car is almost bone stock, but remeber thet the gtech to be perfectly accurate you need to be on a straight level road, and most of the roads aren't. also when measuring for hp i get somewhere around 180-210hp whereas my car has some eye popping 125hp at the crank

I have a 1992 honda civic VX(hatchback you those of you who haven't heard of a vx) with a 97 GSR(b18c1) engine with a CAI, DC sport 4-1 header high flow cat and an Apex N1 exhaust, on 205/40R16's at 35psi, on a warm night in Chandler AZ my best time was 15.013 this was my first night at the track and my 7th run, I dumped the clutch @ 5k had wicked wheel hop and spun the tires half way threw second gear. my 8th run of the night was a 15.326 and I took her home after that, she smelled like clutch and I felt like I had abused my favorite toy in the world. The shop that did my swap said I should be in the 14's( with better tire setup) but when I was buying the swap I was debating an H22 they told me out of the box with a bone stock h22 in the car I would be running 13's, but the aftermarket parts for that motor are out of my price range besides I love winding this engine to 8400rpm, makes me feel good after 5 years with that 92hp POS engine it had stock..

ALso it must be a stripped out 89 CRX to get into 13's

i mean a damn ITR (B18C5) wont even run 13s in a civic with out being modded, right?

My friend has a 240sx with a (JDM) CA18DET TURBOd engine pushing around 300WHP and his 1/4 mile time is 12.95

So i am pretty sure the H22 isnt gonna run in 13's with out being modded to some degree. h22 will run low 14s with out any mods
my friend with the 240sx has seen it

well I guess "your friend" knows everything.

also if you have 300hp is a civic and can only pull a 13.something sec run then your an idiot.

Yes it's a heavier by about 50lbs then a b18 but keep in mind that weight is right over the drive wheels witch translates into more traction. Not to mention the 200hp and 151lb/ft or tq. With a bone stock(as close as you can get it in a civic) h22 in a 3dr hatchback civic running a 13 second 1/4 should not be a problem. Your buddy needs to figure out what wrong with his car. Is he drag racing on sparetire dounuts?

Keep in mid this 200hp 151lbs/ft engine is going into a car that will weigh less the 2000lbs with engine. So that's 1hp for every 10lbs of car. A 1995 corvette has 350hp and weighs 3100lbs, if you look the #'s the civic with an h22 in it is running close to the same hp to weight ratio.

I ran a 16.0 in my EX with exhaust, intake, springs, & plug wires(not that they helped).
I ran a 15.7 in my Si with intake & exhaust. That onw I can attribute to a bad 3rd gear synchro.:o

Was that falling off a cliff? I might believe that one.

what CIvic is 2000 LBs with Engine? CRX? cause my sedan is like 2500 lbs

and what is wrong with 12.95 1/4 with 300 whp running BAR at full boost? and HE does have some ECU problems so that may attibute to the SLOW time. anyways if any of u wanna run ur RICER mouth im sure he will smoke ur F*CKING doors off

my friends SS camaro runs round 350 hp and they only run a whopping 13.2 1/4

it may be a tenth of a sec lower

The EG(92-95) hatches except for the SI(Cx,DX, and VX) are right at 2000lbs, and that's in full stock dress. I'm pretty sure the CRX's from 84-88's are under 2000lbs.

The old equation for every 100lbs off the car relates 1/10 of a second off your 1/4 mile times isn't true. Think about it, a 200lbs go kart with 100 lbs is going to be alot more then 1/10 of a seconn slower then a 100lbs gokart with the same HP.

You need a track.
You're probably only off by about 2-3 seconds.....
