![]() My car's got a problem.
When you turn the key, it makes a grinding sound. Like the starter's not really getting a good hold of the flywheel and making the engine turn. If I roll the car a little with it in gear (clutch in) then sometimes it starts. I can't really get a good look into the place I need to, but I think that I lost a lot of teeth on the flywheel and was looking for a little confirmation. Oh, and does anyone know the going rate for labor on this job. The last time I had it done (when I got the JUN installed) it was something like 500 for labor, that still about right? |

Yeah, I pulled the starter off and checked to see if there was teeth missing. It's got some gone in a little section, and some more radomly through the wheel. I'm suprised by it though, because it's JUN, and steel. I didn't think that steel would crack like that, seeing that I work on metal for a living and know a little about metalurgy myself.
