A/C Doesn't work on Speeds 1 & 2... but Blows Great on 3 & 4???

pretty much in the title... but when i turn my a/c on 1 or 2... there is no air... but 3 and 4 blow hard cold air... any ideas?

See if you can't replace the switch on the dash itself. It sounds like the contacts have worn out too much. Might be able to get one at the junkyard for cheap. Very easy to do.

Is the fan noisier thatn usual? If so, sounds liek we have the same problem. (See a few posts ago.) Except, mine only works on speed 4. Noisy like there is some interference, but motor does not get hot.

i don't think it's noisier... but then again... it's been like this since i got the car in february... i like being cold so i always leave it on 3 or 4... just turn recirculate on or off if i get TOO cold... it's just my girlfriend that complains lol... i was thinking the switch too... i'll have 2 check that out

It sounds like your blower motor resistor is going out......that is what controls the fan speed.
