I seriously doubt it. just buy a new engine, itll be cheaper and the performance gains will be much more. on a 96 though, I think you'll need to do an obd1 conversion.

the nice thing is you chould be able to sell your engine and trans for maybe $400. better than my resale value!

you will not need to do an obd2-obd1 conversion. just get an obd2 motor and it will clear up many headaches created from going from obd2-obd1.

Umm You CAN change it to DOHC by using the head off of the ZC or usdm equivelant. Is it easy? NO, VTEC? NO. Is it worth it? NO. Possible? YES.

Go ahead and swap your engine so you'll have a civic thats slightly faster with an engine/tranny that could be about ready to go.

Or build up yours(about the same price as a swap if not cheaper) and boost it.

As far as a 200hp all motor D series civic goes, its possible.

JG engine dynamics has a dyno of a D16 package they sell the brings it up to 160hp to the wheels, and is streetable. So thats about what, 185hp or so to the fly. And then if you went into the block and did a little boring 200+hp would be very easy to do.
