you mean you didnt check before hand? Goodluck bro. It'll work. It's just a few small rewiring, as long as it's a USDM.

well you can tell by the numbers on the head (which are the dates) and just use your knowledge that obd2 started in 96

or you can tell by wires....which I am not sure enough about to tell you (dont wanna give the wrong answer)

Try the k20a2 swap into a 7th gen civ in 2002. We had to make up everything. Buying parts here, buying parts there. Returning parts. Wiring problems. Took 4 months to get it done properly and thats with HASPORT was working with us. We helped each other for 4 months until it finally got done. That swap sucked!
I ended up driving a 72 bug for those 4 months. NOW THAT REALLY SUCKED !!!! SORRY BUG FANS!!!

Hell broke lose.

My swap did not "plug in" at all - my B16A had something up with the wiring schematics and it turns out it had to be wired in similar to a JDM B18C (which has wires in spots my car's harness does not). I have looked my friend Glen's car over throroughly (he has a EG6 with the same swap as me) and his motor plugs in totally different than mine does.

It was expensive.

The swap sucked because we didn't really know what we were getting into. We thought 2 weeks max. Soon 2 became 4, 4 became 6 and so on. When that starts to happen it starts to get frustrating and then It started to suck. At the end, when it's done, you look back and say it wasn't too bad, because I learned a lot and did something at the time, or still, not many people have done before. But like all swaps gone wrong. There are those days when you just want to say screw it. Oh well. I'm done.

if you take the engine code or Vin check on a vechile history report.

*Edit* i had to do this on my EX swap. the motor had 45K and it was a 95. i had know idea anything about it except it worked+ran. then i check engine code on the net. ill go get the site and come back. if i can find it. *edit*

the geekz0r (11:03:46 PM): basicly, look at it this way...the 6speed is the same is the 5speed in 2,3,4,5,and 6...only the speeds are different because of the fd
the geekz0r (11:04:16 PM): so 2nd pulls like 1st in the 5speed, 3rd is like 2nd, etc.
PortugeeTex (11:04:26 PM): so whats 1st like then?
the geekz0r (11:04:49 PM): 1st is like hitting a cheeta in the ass with a tazer
PortugeeTex (11:04:53 PM): lmfao
