Random thought of the day...

So I'm bored and got to thinking:

Why the hell can't I go to Cuba? I mean, seriously, I'm sure there was a time when it was important to keep Americans away from filthy, scheming communists (or something), but why do we still need to be at arm's length? I mean...Russia's communist and we're chummy with them. China practically owns half of this country and they're pinkos. Sure, we're not on great terms with the socialist installments in Venezuala or Bolivia, but that's got more to do with their insanity rather than their politics. And it's not that I'm terribly interested in going to Cuba...if I was, I'd become Canadian and that's just not happening...I'd just like to know that if the urge hit me I could travel there.

Hell you could swim that shit.. They do it every day.

I'm sure you've probably seen this, eventhough it's not really up to date. There are some good facts for anyone that doesn't know the history of Cuba and the US.

Travel requirements..

I'm sure this stuff will change eventually, since we've been promised "change".. We'll see.

The reason we arent on good terms is cause they have nothing that interests the US except drugs and coffee...Let them become the worlds top producer of oil or something useful and we'd be on them like stink on shit.

the geekz0r (11:04:16 PM): so 2nd pulls like 1st in the 5speed, 3rd is like 2nd, etc.
PortugeeTex (11:04:26 PM): so whats 1st like then?
the geekz0r (11:04:49 PM): 1st is like hitting a cheeta in the ass with a tazer

Hahaha. In all seriousness though, it kind of seems like this whole thing should've been done away with years ago. I'm sure it made tons of sense when Russians were taking swipes at the U.S. with nuclear missles during the cold war. Then again, Cuba didn't take a bunch of disgruntled American defectors, turn them into some kind of commandos, and try to invade the U.S. with them (a'la the Bay Of Pigs). Probably one of the biggest intelligence/militaristic mistake made by the U.S...ever. So honestly I think Cuba should be more pissed at us than the other way around. But hey...Castro's gonna be dead soon (wait...he didn't kick already, did he?). But then his brother will probably take over. Any of you Canucks wanna send me some Cuban cigars? Hahaha.

i found a cuba raft one time. it was 100 yards down the beach from a beach house we were renting back home. was made out of a few 55gal drums, some styrofoam, a few wooden pallets, had a few 2x4's with rope on em for the railings, had a storage area lined with more syrofoam, a few boat bumpers. probably 8x8 if i was to take a guess. even had a few benches and what apeared to be a sail/cover. primitive ruder which was basically a small peice of plywood or something to that extent tied to one side with a long board nailed to it. i bet it could hold 6 or 7.

oh and the gulf stream helps em make the trip. we'd be fighting a hell of a current trying to float down there. more useless florida knowledge.

Ha, yeah I forgot about the Gulf Stream.. You'd think growing up playing in the Gulf I would have remembered that. Guess I've just been land locked for to many years.

Who knows Steve, just more american retardedness most likely.
